THE LEGENDARY R&B ALLSTARS

The Rhythm & Blues  Allstars are a dynamic,  aggressive  10-piece  band originally formed in 1979 and gained popularity at venues like The Town Pump, The Commodore, Richards on Richards, Buffalo Bills and 86th Street till the late 90’s.  Over the years,  the band has been a home for many of Vancouver’s premiere musicians and still continues to bring audiences to their feet.

ALEXANDER BOYNTON Jr. with CAT LEVAN

Contemporary composer, songwriter, bass player and bandleader, Boynton Jr. is best known as bassist in the Canadian Juno-award-winning group The Payola$. His musical collaborations have included the likes of David Foster, Bob Rock, Paul Hyde, Jeff Lorber, David Pickell and Blu Mankuma, and he has opened for a host of big names, including Bryan Adams, Super Tramp and Duran Duran. 

CAT LEVAN

Tracks on Cat Levan’s debut album, “Double Life”, (on which she teamed with Billboard Top 10 hitmaker and guitarist Steve Oliver to write seven original songs for the 11-song recording produced by Oliver,) continue to chart in regular airplay rotation on smooth jazz radio stations across the USA and UK, as well as on “WAVE 98.3FM”, VANCOUVER’S COOLEST VIBE.

Well-known Vancouver soul, funk and pop band Soulstream makes its first ever Summer Sundays appearance.

With its winning combination of two lead singers, a three-piece horn section and a driving five-piece rhythm section, Soulstream offers a mix of feel-good 70’s soul, 60’s Motown, hip hop, current pop and classic rock.

POWDER BLUES

For over four decades Powder Blues has been Canada’s leading blues band.

Band highlights include winning Canada’s Juno, headlining the world-famous Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, winning the Blues Foundation Award in Memphis, Tennessee and touring the US and Europe with legends like Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker, B.B. King, James Brown, Albert Collins, James Cotton and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

Leader Tom Lavin has won BCMIA awards for ‘Guitarist, Singer, Songwriter and Producer of the Year’, a Juno award for ‘Best New Band’ and the American W.C. Handy award.

2023 is the band’s 45th Anniversary. Their more than dozen CD titles and DVD’s continue to sell world-wide making Tom Lavin & the Legendary Powder Blues one of Canada’s longest-standing musical ambassadors.
